The site of the February seventh Great Strike at Changxindian, located in Changxindian Town, Fengtai District, Beijing, includes the Modern Architectural Remains in Erqi Locomotive Plant, the Site of Changxindian Workers’ School, the Site of Changxindian Workers’ Club, the Site of Changxindian Workers’ Evening School, the Site of the Police Station, the Site of Changxindian Preparatory School for Students Going to France for Work-Study Programs, and the Changxindian Cemetery for the February seventh Strike Martyrs.
The Site of the February Seventh Great Strike at Changxindian is one of the main sources and locations of the Beijing-Hankou Railway Workers’ Great Strike. It is the starting point and example of the combination of Marxism and China’s workers’ movement, with basically intact preservation. Meanwhile, the site is also an important base for patriotic education and has an vital historical significance for the study of the history of Chinese revolution and the Communist Party of China. On March 5, 2013, the site of the February seventh Great Strike at Changxindian was designated as the seventh batch of Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level by the State Council of the People’s Republic of China.
