
As one of the first three sub-parks of Zhongguancun Science Park, Fengtai Science Park (the Park) was founded in1991, constructed in 1992, and became one of the first state-level high-tech zones in 1994. After three decades of development, the Park now stands as the core economic growth point of Fengtai District, an important industrial zone and high-tech innovation base of Beijing, and a nationally well-known cluster of central enterprises and private businesses.
The Park prioritizes the 100-billion-yuan-level industrial clusters of rail transport and aviation & aerospace industries, and the 10-billion-yuan-level industrial clusters of new generation IT, intelligent equipment,medicine and health, and new materials. Of them, the rail transport industry is the most distinctive and the largest: 150 key enterprises reported 230 billion yuan of total revenue in 2020,about one third of that of the Park.
The Park is home to 28 listed companies and 1,015 state-level high-tech companies. With the headquarters of central enterprises, listed companies, and non-local companies in it, the Park was honored one of the first group of "Headquarters Economic Agglomerations in Beijing" in 2013. The Park also houses 9 state-level enterprise technology centers, 2 national engineering research centers, 1 national engineering technology research center, 1 national engineering lab, 52 Beijing enterprise technology centers, 12 Beijing engineering technology research centers, 7 Beijing engineering labs, 1 Beijing engineering research center,9 state-level incubators, and 8 state-level and 18 city-level business startup spaces.
In 2020, the Park's total revenue hit 690 billion yuan, per capita output reached 3,649,000 yuan, and output/km2 amounted to 37.71 billion yuan, respectively ranking the fourth, the second, and the second? among those in the Zhongguancun Demonstration Zone.
